PELIKAAN is a French producer who has built his musical project across the capitals of Europe he has had the luck to call home: Paris, London, Madrid and today Rome.

With his music, PELIKAAN invites the listener to fly along on a quest for sound, a journey that the artist wishes to be exploratory and spiritual - but most importantly, fun.

Being somebody who's never been too keen on putting things into well-labelled boxes, his style remains undefined, lying somewhere between downtempo, trip-hop and electronica, but not hesitating to take inspiration from other genres.

Arbitrary Impressions will be PELIKAAN's second EP. With this work, the artist intends to draw a musical self-portrait, with each track representing a certain aspect of life.

We Were Young can be seen as a nostalgic homage to time passing by. Both chilled with its bouncy baseline and wild with its airy arpeggios, the track is meant as an unapologetic celebration of the energy of youth, with all its candour and stubbornness alike.

Ghost is a wink at the opportunities that we believe to get permanently closed as we make our way through life. It starts with a solid groove to hang onto, like a window on the horizon. But halfway through, everything seems to collapse before the exploding into a new energy, reminding us that nothing is fixed and new paths can always be open.

Treasures is an invitation to gratitude, to enjoy what life has brung to us so far and what more is to be discovered. The track follows repetitive rhythmic arpeggios that accelerate periodically, like waves crashing on a beach, with each one of them leaving behind its dose of inspiration and experience, like little treasures that one should learn to cherish.

Rain Dance is a celebration of the most unexpected aspects of life, it starts with a steady beat over bass drones but suddenly opens to synth-wave style arpeggios, mixing elements that have little to do together in appearance to create something entirely new.

Finally, Rabbit Hole represents a dive into the divine, when the inspiration strikes and we get in the zone. With its extra long break, this track intentionally doesn't respect the standards of electronic music production, as an ultimate reminder that rules are here to be broken.
